What drum microphone setup do you recommend for recording?

What drum mircophone setup do you recommend for recording. What mics do you use and where do you place them? What type of sound do you lke to get? Thanks!

the type of mic really depends on how much cash u r willing 2 shell out 4 a set. but placement is more important, especially 4 recording. mic the top and bottom of the snare to the left if the drummer is right handed or to the right if the drummer is left handed. mic the top of each tom at the top of the drum (which would be the farthest from the player. get a boom mic craned into the port hole of the bass drum. dont try to record w/a bass drum tht doesnt have a port hole unless u HAVE to. 3 overhead mics makes 4 a good sound for all crashes and splashes. have an individual mic for the ride and an individual mic 4 the hi-hats. now knowing how many mics u would need will let u plan how much u wanna spend per mic.
