  1. OK, the other answerers are giving you their opinion of what THEY would get if THEY had your money. But the problem is that YOU have to buy a set-up that pleases YOU. There are MANY great brands out there, including all of the ones you named. But what you need to do is go to your local car audio shop and start demo-ing their products. You have a lot to spend and you have enough budget room to pay for a very good set-up and installation. So when you hear a pair that really grabs you then go for it! But remember that subs can sound much different in a demo room than in your car.

A good installer will ask you what kind of music you most listen to as this will help him dertermine what type of subs to sell you. For instance, if you are all about your rap then Kicker will impress you, but if rock is your thing then Kicker subs will get old in a hurry since they don't keep up with the double bass drums that most hard rock groups employ. Also, as a rock fan you will almost certainly like a sealed sub box as opposed to a ported box for rap. A ported enlosure will get you an average of about 3db over a sealed box, but the response time is less, which means that those rock drums will be slightly off-beat to someone with a trained ear like me.

Having said all that, the best answer for your question is what I opened with...go to your local shop and listen to what they have to offer. Then buy whatever pleases YOU! YOU are the only one that counts!

  2. well first off i would go to best buy to make sure you get service plan if anything breaks you walk in and they replace it

ok i did alot of reviews on rockford fosgate p3 and the alpine typr r in 12's alpine hafd awesome reviews and some bad same with the p3 went to best buy wanting to listen to the alpine type r and said they were blown he also stated this is the 6 pair that had blown for demo so i listen to the p3 they were in a ported box and hit and sounded nice so i got the p3 got the service plan for 24.99 on each sub for 3 years so if i blow them i drive back up and get a new 1 on the spot but i walked in ready to buy the typ r's intell he said they kept blowing i had the JL audio 12w1v2.8 they hit good the p3's are loud and smooth

so hope this helps if you have a best buy i recommend you go there and sound test them

amp i would highly recommend rockford fosgate amps

    hope this helps

  3. Hmmm...not sure what you mean by "DVC 20Ohms" but here goes:

Head unit I'm assuming is a JVC? (Eclipse is my favorite). For 12's you can go with the Eclipse TI-PRO's (I've hand-built them myself), but they are a bit pricey. I'm not too sure what amps to hook up to them, but I've used Rockford Fosgates with really good sucess. Pretty much as long as they have decent frequency response and good RMS power then you're ok. I'd say 600-1000Watts (300-600RMS) each and they run around $300-$600ea, but the handle an ungodly 1200W of power at full blast. You're probably better off going with just one sub for $1800. It'll still rattle your teeth out without sacrificing good components.
