you should buy dvd+rw, the rw meaning re-writable, so if you don't like whats on it you can record over it.

dvds have 4.7gb space, dvd -r, if you are thinking about simply burning an avi file onto a dvd and watching it on a dvd player it wont work, unless the dvd player plays div x movies. You will need to convert the file then burn the converted files onto dvd to watch on a normal dvd player, i recomend dvd santa, thats what i use. As for the dvds, the brand is irrelevant, i use blank dvds i bought from a car boot, has no brand on them! work just as well
