Question:

What edition is this Magic the Gathering Goblin King Card?

Okay, so I have a collection of MTG cards that I'm trying to catalog, and I'm using the actual Wizards website. My problem is that I have a Goblin King Card, it has the same picture as the alpha through 4th edition, but it has the wording of the newer Goblin King cards. It's got to be a 5th edition or earlier, copyright date indicates its not alpha or beta( I think) as it is copyrighted for 93-98. It matches none of the editions on the wizard website, so I'm curious, maybe it's a misprint, and if so, is it worth more? It may have come out of a box set somewhere. Any ideas?

  1. As you already know the card was orginally printed in Alpha (Limited) then reprinted from 4th core edition tthrough 10th core edition.  The edition you have, I believe, is 4th but do not quote me....

  2. http://magiccards.info/at/en/2.html

    Is it that one?

If so, then it is the Anthologies version.  It will probably be around the $1.50 to $2.00 range for pricing.  The only Goblin Kings that are worth anything is the Alpha, Beta, and to a lesser extent Unlimited version.
