What effect did getting a job have on your social life as a teenager?

It slightly decreased the quantity of my social life (because I didn't have as much time to hang out with people), but I think it improved the quality because I had money to actually go and do stuff with my friends other than just sitting at someone's house and watching TV.

fantasic, i was rock musician playing lead guitar and sang

in a rock band, and eventually met my wife well, at 23, lol.

and the rest is history as they say . . .

It gave me an opportunity to meet people outside of my normal group of friends.  Working with people is a great way to get to know them.  

The extra income allowed me to spend more money on doing things with friends.
