What effect do mining and oil drilling have on the planets' structural integrity?

Does the Earth replenish itself of the millions of tons of minerals and the billions of gallons of oil that we are removing from it's

core. If not, how is it effecting the structural integrity of the planet?

  1. It isn't repleneshing as fast as we are taking out because for fossil fuel to form it takes millions of years. I wouldn't be worried about the itegrity of the planet, but fossil fuel can become scarce for quite some time.


  2. I would not worry about it too much. Compared to the size of Earth all the mining that has ever been done is going to have about as much effect as one ant's nest will have on the State of Texas.
