This drink is believed to have good effect on the digestive system.Bitters is composed of the following principle components:  angostura bark (Angostura trifoliata), cinchona (or quinine) bark (Cinchona spp.), bitter gentian root (Gentiana lutea) and/or quassia chips (Quassia amara).
