What effect does peroxide have on the body's tissues? I heard it was a free radical?

Does hydrogen peroxide count as what they call " peroxide" or a "free radical" ?

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide is a very weak germicide. The only positive thing about it is that it helps remove debris out of areas that are not easily reached due to its foaming action.

    I have also read that Hydrogen Peroxide is not recommended for treatment of flesh wounds due to damaging effects on the tissues and blood vessels.

    Povidone-iodine is better for cleansing fresh wounds.


  2. hi... from my graduate class, our professor had shared the that this peroxide is a by product from the detruction of a cell and thus, this element acts as a free radical which cuases aging. i hope this will help.
