What effect has geography had on the way people live?

hehe. i'm just wondering. cuz that question gets me everytime. but i don't exactly know what it means. care telling me?

  1. Most simply put, if you are geographically closer to the poles the climate is colder and you need to build warm houses and stock up on food for the long winters. If you live closer to the equator you need shelter from the sun and the heat, and the ways of storing food that works well up north does not work. If you live in the rain forest you need shelter from the wet climate, and you don't need to store as much food since you'll be able to find food all year round.

    How you live depends on where you are. Do you spend your time stocking up for the winter, making sure you are living in a warm home, then you are not likely to be living in the desert. And so on.
