This question is targeted at Hillary supporters and McCain supporters.

I'm not too concerned with what the far left has to say... it's predictable.

  1. After about 5 minutes upon listening to her last Friday, I thought:"game changer, actually, game over."

  2. Moderate democrats, social conservatives and independents will still have plenty of reasons to look at McCain.  His record has been one of crossing party lines in order to pass important legislation.  As an elected official, he has followed his own value system, even when it put him at odds in his own party.  He has integrity.

Palin has brought some excitement back to the Republican house.  She is very conservative in her stances, but she has also been very brave in confronting her peers on ethics.  She also appears to have integrity.

This is an election that should be won and lost by the issues.  There has been a suggestion that Palin will be unattractive to women because she is anti-abortion.  That's pretty generalist.  I don't think all women or all Democrat women are pro-abortion.  People need to look at what is important to them, look at the professional records of the nominees and make the decision that seems the most logical.  Unbiased information is a bit hard to come by, but it is out there.

  3. For one. The opening of the White House to people outside the Washington Insiders club. That's a big change.

  4. The Palin effect, obviously.  I think this will be a somewhat new phenomenon, but what will happen is it will energize conservative housewives that don't usually show up to vote.  There's more than a few of them - this much I know!!!

  5. She certainly has recharged the Republican Party and she absolutely has recharged my faith in it. Palin Power all the way to the White House

  6. Since Palin has none of Hillary's logical policies, then she will make the right wing happy but most sane Americans will be insulted.

    Prayer + research

  7. It's really gone along way in electrifying the Republican base and moderate Republican women.  McCain is now enjoying an extremely high rate of support (90%) among Republicans, both moderate and conservative.   Obama still has yet to really achieve that cohesiveness.  He's operating at 82% Democratic support.  To put that in perspective, Kerry had 89% Democratic support.

Second, she's causing people outside of the party to stop and pay attention to the Republican ticket.  Before, people were largely ignoring the McCain campaign and focusing primarily on Obama.  Lately, nobody is really talking about Obama.  He's faded from the spotlight, and everyone is talking about Palin and McCain.   That's a good thing for the most part.

  8. She will appeal greatly to the base of conservative Christians, as well to independents, especially independent women.

  9. none whatsoever, hillary supporters (like i was) are not so stupid as to vote for the most anti-women's rights candidate since pat buchanan.

    obama/biden 08

  10. Hillary and Sarah could not be more different in their political views and dreams for America!   If a woman was for Hillary JUST because of her s*x then she might switch to Sarah but no woman who supported Hillary for what she believed in could EVER vote for Sarah.  Sarah Palin is a throwback and a religious extremist.  Seriously, God help us if McCain and Palin get elected.  I honestly think they will destroy the US as a world leader with their primitive, anti-science views.

  11. This women is the next VP and the best thing that can happen to this country

  12. none.

  13. Hillary supporters are FOR everything that Palin is against.  Palin is a cookie cutter - female version of MCBush.  The idea that the presentation of a woman version of the opponent will sway the women of the democratic party is ludicrous.

  14. I alway voted for the Democrats..and my wife voted for the Republicans

23 years we canceled eatch other votes out..

but this election I have seen a new Republican party and a sad

    Democrat party

I am not happy with all the choices but I think Sarah Palin is the first

candidate I have seen that I think I want to vote for.

Sarah and John will make a good pair in this election as I think

as president of the US the McCAin and Palin team make the most

sense.  This is the effect Sarah Palin had on me..and of course my

wife always did vote GOP..but now even I can see the wisdom in

switching parties..We are both retired so we are concerned with our

economic future and also our children and grand children.

  15. She has connections in Alaska for AMERICA's natural resources like oil, gold, silver, etc. --- Drill baby - Drill

She will be "a friend, an advocate for special needs babies"

She will be an advocate for our Troops while they are defending us militarily, and when they come home.  She will be one of the few leaders who has current family fighting for us (son & nefew).

  16. I don't think Palin has much affect with Hillary supporters.  Those who moved to McCain did so and that was that.

Palin has more of an affect over the conservative base that McCain struggles with.

  17. I think it will be a few more days before the impact is truly assess able. Thing is the Indies have a good gasp on how the Supreme court works and they know that Palin isn't much of a threat to existing laws. That puts the issues back on top for most and we will all have to wait and see just how quick a study she really is. Frankly, I think she is a great choice based on her record and her persona on parr with Clinton.

But Obama dropped 1 point in the polls already and it's only noon.

  18. Well, I am embarrassed to admit it after all the filth and slander my party has shoveled, but I am  a democrat that will vote for McCain simply because of her being on the ticket. I don't much care for McCain, but I can see her as President in 2012.

  19. Hillary supporters are the far left! Have you read her views? Did you notice she was at the DNC?

  20. I think it will get the people that normaly would not take the time to go vote motivation to make sure their voice is heard!

  21. I'm not a Hillary supporter or a McCain supporter. I'm a Democrat which is not the same as "far left" (In spite of what Hannity, O'Reilly and Limbaugh say) because the "far left" does not support Obama. I think Palin does help rally some of the "far right", neo-Cons and the Christian Conservatives. I think as her double-talk on the issues is brought to the forefront, Independents and Moderates will see that she is simply status quo for what  we've had for last 8 years. She will be back in Alaska in time for dinner on November 5th. Maybe they will have mooseburgers.

  22. She will have a great effect on this election.  For Obama!  Not only is she not qualified for the job, but she is a LIAR!  Did you read this article?

  23. I think it will give true conservatives more of a reason to back McCain.

  24. The real effect that Palin will have is that Republican women who had been wooed toward Hillary and the Democrats will be reigned in and be more likely to vote Republican instead.  This is the effect that I have seen.

Most Republican women were not too satisfied with McCain because they did not see an ally of women there.  Now that they have a woman as a Vice Presidential pick, they feel safer because they feel Palin will watch their backs for them.
