What effects have humans had on the amazon forest?

    the amazon looses forests the size of Switzerland every year,and this is speeding up,

    David Attenborough did a report on it ,on BBC documentaries called Planet earth -jungles

    The American corporations are doing the most damage

    with clearance to produce Ethanol

    The reforestation somebody mentions is Bulsh*t ,they replace diverse forest full of animals ,with single specie mono cultures  to produce palm oil or for timber to be cut down again,

    and nothing apart from plagues of bugs lives in there ,which are controlled by pesticides ,and the trees are fertilized with chemicals .
