  3. 1. We've been desensitized to tragedy (people don't even think it's a big deal).

    2.  Millions of people that could contribute to society (medical advances, humanitarian efforts, etc) have been stopped from doing so.

  4. Actually, abortion has been legal for many more than 35 years.  Roe v Wade sought to make abortion illegal.  It was over turned.  Perhaps a more apropos question would be 'What effects (if any) did birth control have on america, and my answer would be the following...The rate of education and employability for women has increased, a man now has paternal rights the same as a woman's maternal rights, families can decide how big they want to be, more time and resources invested per child when families are smaller, and most importantly, the slippery slope of government involvement in people's medical situations was averted.  We also had a tool to control abortion (since reasonable people understand that making abortion illegal does not make it go away).  With education and tools to prevent pregnancy, the rate of abortion goes down.  For proof, look to the presidencies that invested in education and birth control, and those that didn't.  The results are lower abortion rates among those who are 'pro choice'.

  5. According to Freakonomics it has resulted in lowered crime rates.

  6. a better world

  7. a lot of positives... a lot

    crime, etc has dropped

  8. The population is far less and millions of dollars have been spent on legal fees.

  9. less children.
