  1. hi i am going to Greece in 4 days and i am having my lap top with me just get a plug with 2 round prongs that will do the job hope i helped you and have a nice time x x

  2. you can bring whatever electric appliances you want, but you need a CONVERTER for the different voltage. i believe the converter you need is the european one, that is to say 2 rounded prongs (rather than the USA which uses 2 flat prongs). But check the greek tourism website to make sure.

the problem is, not all the appliances will work exactly the same because they weren't really designed to have electric current through adapters. for example, hair dryers/straighteners and laptops tend to underperform, but cell phones, ipods, etc are usually just fine.

  3. You can find adapters pretty easily. My dad took his laptop when we went to France and it was fine.

  4. Your mother is correct.

If the instruction manual or the writing on the plug says 110/220V, that means it is dual voltage and works at home and abroad in the EU (which of course includes Greece). In this case you only need an adapter with the two round plugs at the end to change it so you can plug it into the wall. Many laptops, digital camera/phone chargers and other electronics fit in this category and are dual voltage.

If the instruction manual or writing on the plug only says 110V, then you need both a converter to change the voltage to 220V and an adapter to change the end of the plug.

But hair dryers and hair straigteners are usually only one voltage, unless it is a "travel" item. Again, you need to check the box.

You can buy both adapters and converters at electrical stores (i.e. Radio Shack) or online stores at home or in Greece. They're also available at travel stores, but they're a bit more expensive there.

I hope that was clear and have a nice trip.

  5. buy a converter & everything should work out fine.

  6. u can bring all the ones u want!   u will just have to buy a converter b/c the voltage is diffferent. but yea they usually cost about $40 but yea, $40 is worth it b/c i didnt have my laptop b/c i didnt get a converter and i had over 300 emails when i got back to the u.s. b/c i was in greece for about a month and couldnt bring my laptop and couldnt check my email. but yea u can bring ur phone charger and ipod charger and laptop charger and straightener! all are fine, but u MUST HAVE A CONVERTER!!!!

    hope this helps!!!!  =)=D=p=p
