Question:

What else can I put in my 10 gallon tank? (Fishes)

I have a 10 gallon tank with a good amount of space (i think). I need suggestions if I can add more fish or stop as it is. Please advice.

Thus far, I have 1 male betta, and 5 tetras. I am thinking of getting a couple of bottom feeders as tetras stay mostly in the middle, and bettas are usually at the top. A couple of corycats, should this be a good addition?

This is my tank. It is small, but would like to upgrade someday. (can you spot the betta?)

  1. these were two of my favorites

    1st are clown loach

and 2nd red tailed black sharks

nice and colourful tank by the way

  2. You could add a couple of corydoras. They are relly cute and will eat all the left over food on the bottom. They are also not aggressive and would work well with the tetras.

  3. well, they say an inch of fish is one gallon of tank.. so 10 fish is MAX but the fish have to be small.. If you want to add more things i would suggest getting a 20 gallon asap.

Also betta fish are very aggressive, so make sure you watch the tetras because the betta could be fighting with them at night, depending when they sleep.

Also, I reccomend one algae sucker, not corycats, i had some, and they are wierd. Get some of those black algae eaters (bottom feeders), their long, and you see them in like science room fish tanks.

  4. That is a fantastic setup. You could go for corydoras as they are active fish, brilliant scavangers and would make a great addition to your tank.

I would suggest though going for mabye 2 coolie loaches. Do some research on them and you'll realise that they are perfectly suited to your tank and only grow to about 10cm.

On the other hand, gouramis are very peaceful and will blend in well with your beautifully coloured tank as would golden rams.

here are some websites that may help you:

    hope this helps

  5. Yes, corydoras would make a great addition to your tank.

  6. very beautiful setup and beautiful red Betta :)

you did a great job on the aquascapping

you DO NOT want a clownloach, because they need at least a 55 gallon tank

however you can add more fish to your tank

    4 Cory cats

1 more tetra to complete the school, they should be in a group of 6

3 platies (even them you could add without any problems)

  7. Go to Petco and talk to the aquatic specialist.  The rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon, so you can have 10 inches worth of fish...  but ask petco on what goes together, and which will not get along...

  8. nice tank...lol.

I would add some guppies, if ur into bredding, and a few mollies, just go to ur local pet store, they should have alot there......
