  1. I like smokey paprika sprinkled on top, gives a nice twang if your mac and cheese is creamy. Also try a can of Rotel and some ground chuck or chicken for something different.

  2. Instead of adding something to it (I was going to suggest smoked ham, but you said no pork), maybe you could try a different type of cheese.

My favorite to use is colby-jack, but I also love mac & cheese with smoked provolone or pepper jack.

I really think bbq brisket makes a good side to mac & cheese, but if you want to add something in it, I'd go with a vegetable like broccoli.

  3. My kids like to stir in cooked veggies and to top it all off with crushed ritz crackers. I don't know that everyone would like that combo. I can recommend adding English peas or even seasoned black beans to the mac and cheese for some color and extra flavor.

  4. i'm soooo glad you asked! it sound weird but try it you;ll love it! CHEESY TUNA CASSEROLE!!!mmmmmm i can never go back to regular boring tuna casserole.

    prepare the mac and cheese

    add:

1 can of tuna (drained of course)

1 can of cream of mushroom soup

a hand full or 2 of either fresh or frozen peas (optional)

    and mix together

place in casserole dish and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs

cook in the oven until heated through and cheese is melted. ENJOY!!!

  5. Drained, canned tuna & peas makes a quick, stove-top tuna casserole.

Browned hamburger & some chili powder will create a "Hamburger Helper" style Chili-Mac.

Cut up hot-dogs, in a pinch.

Broccoli & leftover chicken is really good too.

    Good luck!

  6. I like Tuna with my M&C

Edit - I'm going to try that Salsa idea next time, it sounds good to me :0)

    chicken b*****s or tenders

    more cheese YUM!!!

    pepperoni or sausage (beef)

    herbs and spices

    hot sauce

    lobster

    salmon

    crab meat

    craw fish

    beans(cooked or canned)
