  1. You might want to introduce pellets-they have necessary vitamins and minerals.  Your bird will also be able to eat most fruits and veggies.  Also some birds like grain.  One of my birds loved to nibble on toast.  All my birds liked bananas and mango.  Most birds enjoy nuts.  Peanuts was a favorite to my ringneck.  Avoid avocados they are poisonous to birds.

  2. It would be good to start giving him some pelleted food too. A seed-only diet doesn't meet all your bird's nutritional needs, thus if you continue on a seed-only diet, your bird might not live as long as he could.

It is also good to give your bird fresh vegetables and/or fruits every day. Green leafy vegetables like spinach, bok choy, kale, or carrot tops. You can also give your bird root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and radishes, and many other kinds of veggies like tomatoes, peas, zuchinni, cucumber, broccoli, corn, peas, and many, many others. Some fruits you can give your bird are peaches, cherries, bananas, mangoes, and apples, as long as you remove the seeds. If you're going to give your bird fruits, you need to make sure to take out any pits if the fruit has them.

Things like rice, spaghetti, wheat bread/toast,cous cous and unbuttered unsalted popcorn are some other things your bird can have.

There are lots of things you need to avoid too though. Anything greasy, salty, or full fat ir caffeine is bad. Chocolate and avacado should be avoided as well, because they are deadly to birds. Apple seeds and fruit pits are deadly as well.

Just make sure that what you want to give your bird is safe for them to eat before you give it to them.

  3. Greens: Kale, Bok choy, spinach, chard, mustard greens, radish, carrot tops, beet tops, dandelion greens (make sure they haven't been sprayed or collected near a roadway) and just about any other leafy green veggie.

Veggies: Carrots, peas, zucchini, corn, squash, radishes, bell pepper, broccoli, green beans, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, chili peppers.

Grains: Steamed rice (white, brown, wild) cooked pasta, whole wheat and multi-grain bread, popcorn (no butter), bran muffins, polenta, grits, cous cous, sprouted seeds and grains (quinoa, amaranth, millet, teff, kamut, spelt), oatmeal, all natural cereal.

Proteins: Raw sunflower seed (small amounts), chicken, eggs, rish, small amounts of hard cheese such as Jack and cheddar, tofu, cooked beans (lentil, kidney, black, garbonzo, navy, white).

Fruit: Apples (seeds removed), peaches, bananas, melons, mango, pomegranate, oranges, papaya, strawberries, plums, pears, berries, nectarines, cherries. (Please remove all pits from fruit.)

Please don't feed your birds salty foods, processed sugar, avocado, rhubarb, alcohol, greasy foods, caffeine, tomato leaves & stems, eggplant leaves, dried beans (always cook or fully sprout first), chocolate, apple seeds, fruit pits, tobacco. Feed onions or garlic in very small amounts only.

  4. You can feed him bird pellet ,fruits, vegetable, beans, pepper, brown rice, most things that are healthy for you.Give him a chicken bone or cuttlefish bone for calcium.

Do not feed your parrot seeds from fruits here is a list of things you should not feed your parrot.

    avocado

    chocolate

    anything salty

    anything fatty

  5. You should definitely be giving him fresh fruits and vegetables as part of his diet. If fed a seed-only diet, a bird can have vitamin deficiencies and high cholesteral.

NO chocolate, avocado, apple seed, nicotine, salty or fatty foods.

  6. What is he eating now?  I can't answer if I don't know what he is presently eating.
