What else do i need with my hdtv?

what kind of cables/recievers/ etc etc???..im just about to buy my first hdtv and need a list of things i should get...

There are many things to consider.  First off is what all objects are you hooking up to your tv.  If you have cable or satellite you need audio/video cables or hdmi cables to hook up your dvd player or game systems.  You also need a good surge protector.  The best one also has a jack for a cable line.  You also need cable lines to hook up from the wall to your tv.

If you do not have cable or satellite tv then you additionally should check to see if your tv has a digital receiver built in.  If it does not then you will also need to purchase a digital receiver box (most hd tv's have it already).  

Some people also buy a cables kit, which you can but at walmart that conceal your cable wires with ties and concealers.
