I know the Major Open Chords - A , B , C , D , E , F , G

& I can also play Power Chords

Oh and by the way , I have a Gibson Les Paul Custom.. is that a good beginners guitar?

  1. If it's an actual Gibson then yeah that's a good guitar period.

Anyways I'd suggest just trying to buy some books and read up on some music theory if you have the motivation. Some people don't but are still able to kick *** without knowing theory. Knowing theory isn't essential, but it helps.

Also try to find and join a band. This is usually a great way to get motivated to play better and practice a lot more. You seem to know the basics, and for alot of rock bands that'll be enough.

You can also check up on http://www.ultimate-guitar.com for free lessons and tabs to learn to play whatever songs you might want to learn.

  2. Well it depends if you're a rhythm guitarist or a lead guitarist.

Rhythm Guitarist - being able to keep in time

    - being able to change chords quickly

    - has a reliable strumming technique

    - being able to understand the chord charts

Lead Guitarist - able to improvise

    - knows the scales

so if you wanna improve maybe try practicing lead guitar stuff

Your guitars a nice one i've always wanted one of those. That's what guitar pro's use like slash so take care of it its a nice guitar.

  3. I think you're well on your way to becoming a kickass guitarist.

    lol.

Like for realzzzz you have a custom Les Paul?

    That's awesome!

I used to play, but then I graduated High School and I no longer have the time to play. I work and sleep.

    Lame, I know.
