Like everyone, I need a little boost in the morning to get going. However, I've recently noticed that drinking energy drinks make me really jittery and sped up my heart rate. I'm not really a coffee person but if you guys known of anything that I can drink that will give me a boost but not give me the jitters, please tell me.

  1. Eat foods that are complex carbohydrates (e.g. -- they have fiber in them) or that also have protein in them. Pears are a good example; so is cantaloupe. Almonds and peanut butter are great, too. By eating something that isn't a simple sugar, sugar will go into your blood gradually, giving you a continuous flow of energy, rather than making you jittery and then causing you to "crash." Also eat foods that are rich in vitamins and iron. Check out the link below for some foods that can give you an energy boost.

  2. Tea, black tea is good, but stay away from chamomile or lavender, and add honey to it. Honey will energize you without the jitteries from energy drinks and won't cause you to crash like sugar or caffeine will.

  3. I'd say the best thing is to go for a quick jog/walk early on then get prepared as usual. Make sure your shower is a cold one (always refreshing( and while in the shower try to focus your thoughts for the the day. It helps. Next, just eat a good breakfast and you should feel the pep!

  4. I like to drink green tea in the early part of the day. It gives me energy. I'm not a coffee person, either :)

  5. You could have a small bit of coffee for a bit of caffeine, but eat a nice, filling breakfast as well. Make sure your getting complex carbs, simple carbs, and some protein.

A good example would be cereal with milk, an egg, a piece of toast or two, and a glass of juice.

  6. I've tried tons of junk to get a little jolt in the morning. But the thing that works best for me (it sounds crazy) is having a small glass of water and a banana or yogurt or waffle (something light) and going for a brisk walk. This gets everything moving and it REALLY does give you energy throughout the day, speeds up your metabolism and makes you feel great all around!

  7. a good d***o and duracells should do the trick
