  1. i sugggest you get some bedding ( cedar aspen or whatever it doesnt really matter to much) I would get some artificil plants and maby a log for it to climb on . I would also suggest you move your light to the opposite side of your shelter...if they want to warm up they will come  out and bask...( make sure the light isnt on the water either)....

    hope i helped -reptile.helper

  2. The link didn't work for me so i wasn't able to see.  This is how i set up tanks for snakes like corns, kings, or milks.

To set up their tank get a critter cage (it is made for reptiles and has a locking lid) a baby will be fine in a 29 gallon long.  As an adult it will need a 40 gallon long.  Put an appropriately sized under tank heater on one side of the tank (just go by what the back of the box tells you on size).  The best substrate is aspen bedding so that the snake can burrow in it.  Put about an inch of substrate on the bottom of the tank and put the snakes hide on the warm side of the tank then add more substrate in so that the snake can totally hide itself in it.  Since the snake burrows I don’t put a hide on the cold side of the tank I just use one on the hot side so that the snake can be on top of the substrate but still hidden when they want warmth.  Put the water dish on the cool side.  Put some kind of driftwood (pet store) in so that the snake can use it to climb on and also to rub up against when the snake is shedding.  Also a digital thermometer is needed to make sure the hot side doesn’t get too hot (84 F is the hottest you want it 78 – 81 F is perfect).  I don’t monitor the cool side of my snakes tank because as long as the hot side is in a good range then if they get too cold they can always get warmer.

  3. Do you have some good substrates for the bottom of the tank? If not you can use newspaper, pine bark chips (from a pet store, no pesticides), or aspen bedding. Newspaper is probably the best substrate available. It is clean and cheap. When it gets soiled just crumple it up and throw it away. Although seemingly perfect in every way, unfortunately newsprint is not very eye appealing. This is where pine bark chips come in.

Note: Please don't use soil from the outside because it contain bacterium  :D

Corn Snakes like branches so you can buy plastic kind, but make sure they are easy to clean. Corn Snakes like to be still and cozy!!!

Also a rock can be a great decoration because rocks can keep the maintenance of the corn snakes temperature.

I hope this would help U, because I just a beginner for this Yahoo! Answers. Enjoy !!!!  x<:^D
