Question:

What else should we ban?

Currently its suggested that lazer pointers should be banned for the risks they present to pilots. How about we ban knives, they are after all a major crime issue. Then perhaps forks, because if we don't have knives we may resort to forks. Chopsticks could be the go, but like knitting needles they present a risk to aircraft.

So how far do we go with bans before our wimpy, PC driven legal system starts to get some balls our put the crims where they really belong?

But, cinema, hospital, restaurants and places which need quietness.

  4. Hardly anybody uses the laser pointers anyway so who really cares?

  5. I know I think the legal system has alot more they should be worrying about than laser pointers!

  6. If we ban stuff like that, people can start murdering with bare hands...

  7. Possibly we could ban the idiots who point the lasers at the  aircraft.

They're obviously the problem not the laser pointer.

EDIT: It might achieve not having 400 or 500 people die horribly by dropping out of the sky onto a heavily populated urban centre because some idiots 'just want to have fun'.

I use laser pointers in my work, but would prefer to go to the trouble of pointing with my bare hand than have these devices used to kill others.

But I guess you might not have got over not having access to an AK-47 for 'recreational' purposes yet?

Laser pointers haven't been singled out because someone thinks maybe one day something could go wrong, but because people are USING them to harrass pilots.

And personally, it seems sensible to me to stop this behaviour rather than wait until hundreds die and THEN lock some folk up. Laser pointers are NOT a human right.

Seriously, if a plane falls out of the sky onto your house because some dumb fools were poiinting laser pointers at it like they were in Sydney the other night, you won't be happy.

I doubt you can drop a plane out of the sky by pointing a knife or a knitting needle at it.

    Cheers :-)

  14. you.

  15. Big Brother again, ruining it for everyone.  LOL.
