What else would you classify as a necessary evil ?

I think using animals for experimental drugs, is one. . .I hate it, but consider it necessary . . .What would be another one ?

DENTISTS!!  A lot of us hate 'em, but without them we'd have some black-toothed, bad-breathed, painful and scary looking mouths among us!!

Morals.

They make the world safer for those who can't do it for themselves, but if you look it from the other side, they restrict the strong.

Any kind of "Just War" is a necessary evil since it involves the sacrifice of lives for a higher good or ideal.

Loss, without it you wouldn't know what it is to truly appreciate things.

Death... Don't want everyone to stay alive, that would suck.

Sometimes it is needed to keep the peace ironically. Look at 1939. If there was no resistance, no war, Europe would be totally under n**i control. But people fought, millions died, but peace was reinstated (well, not Nazism anyway).

Reverse discrimination.  It's not really a fair practice, but until people start hiring minorities without being forced to, it's a necessary evil.

Prisons... and Death Penalties.

They're there to show others that you can't get away with any crime. I also think the crime rate would decrease significantly if the UK brought back the death penalty.
