  1. Outlook is an Email Client.

It can receive and send email through any provider that offers POP3, IMAP or HTTP email access, or operates through a Microsoft Exchange Server.

To use it, you simply need your settings from your mail provider. Most ISP based emails allow for access through outlook.

Gmail also provides for this. Yahoo Mail only allows POP3 access with their upgraded mail service. Check with your provider to find the settings to access your account.

  2. I'm in Ireland. My email addresses are both eircom.net but I switched from Eircom to BT as its less money for me.

I had a lot of problems with outlook express not sending my emails but its sorted now, changed the outgoing server.

  3. Ideally use the email adress provided by your internet provider, visit their web page and get the details needed from there. You can use other adresses such as Yahoo who provide pop3 forwarding, the drawback with this is that you can download using outlook but not send, so overall your internet provider is the best and easiest to use.

  4. I use RoadRunner by Time Warner and I use gmail (google email)

  5. For the UK my mum used to use blueyonder (virgin media) we now have SKY and you can not use sky with outlook so she has to go to the sky website and access her e-mails that way :(
