What engine is best?

I have a 1983 el camino. I need a new engine. What is the best fit?

Depends on your budget...I'd try to find a 400 SBC 4 bolt main cause it I'll drop right in and give you loads of torque.  They are much cheaper than 383 strokers too, because most 383s are being sold by guys that built then for loads of money and want a return on their investment.
