I mean, anything like karaoke, snooker, dart?

  1. The entertainment will depend on the pub and the type of license.

All pubs will offer some sort of entertainment, even if its only TV and gaming machines.

Karaoke was around for a little while, but its quite unusual as it interferes with the main purpose - a place to drink and chat.

  2. darts

  3. in the uk we dont really have sports bars like you do in the states, i.e with loads and loads of tv, there may be a small one on. or 1 big one, but that will only be used for major football(soccer) matches. many have a snooker or pool table.

most pubs will have a night dedicated to a certain activity, i.e monday karaoke night, tuesday darts league, etc etc....

live bands feature also, but can vary in quality so might turn out to be a bad thing that they are there. difinately the heart of the uk, just go, im sure sum1 will start to talk to you, even if its the local alchoholic lunatic.

  4. they're no different most pubs will have at least one of the things you mentioned and if they dont you shouldnt have a problem finding one.

pubs are more focused on the drink, whereas bars are more for the general experience and socialising so a bar is much more likely to have this activities in them than an old style english pub. but nonetheless most places where alchol is served in the uk will have some form of entertainment in them.

(most definatly have televisions and a games box which you can pay to play)

  5. English pubs are far more charming and have great pub grub at an inexpensive price.  I love them!
