  1. the newest technology is water. The power in water is more

    even solar energy

  2. vegetable oil (and it's possible now lol)

  3. i want cars to run on urine. cars would virtualy be free to run!

its gross i know but think of the positives!

  4. Hydrogen - if you can.  When Hydrogen is burned turns in to just water - PERIOD.

Ethanol is all BS. REad this:

    Good Luck...

As for regular gas, unlead leaded, etc.  they are all the same.  New diesel can be little bit cleaner but most old diesel engines still burn dirtier.

  5. Ethanol. Made from corn.

  6. All fuels that burn and create O2 gasses are bad for the environment.

Water would be the best fuel for a car to run on. A steam powered engine would be clean, however, the material that you have to burn, to boil the water to produce the steam would be dirty. Also steam cars are not mass produced and would be dangerous, as well as hard to use, expensive to maintain and require a lot of upkeep.

The cleanest burning fuel would be LPG, however, as long as the cars emission systems are working correctly, and the exhaust is in good condtion with a catalytic converter, the emissions they produce would be limited.

I believe that diesel would be the dirtiest combustable fuel.

  7. biofuel or biodiesel it's the best (even though it's pricey!)

  8. hydrogen

  9. bio-diesel, right now, is the most environmentally friendly that is open to the public.

  10. buy at BP or Shell because they are making the best effort for cheap gas...no gas is good for the enviornment

  11. dude just get a  hybrid

  12. hmmm.... bio fuels are net zem (i.e. u grow fuel and it takes the carbon out of the air, and then you burn it again, so it doesn't add any c**p to the total environment, but it still pollutes the local air)

electric cars get energy from coal fired power plants.

and hydrogen cars run off carbon stripped natural gas burners.

so both of those are almost as dirty as gas, just more sustainable and move the pollution to a plant away from the city.

we need more solar/wind/water power, that's the real answer, when our electricity and hydrogen comes from nature instead of fossil fuels we'll be there, until then probably oil extracted from inland algae farms used to filter power plant waste from the air.

  13. NOT ethanol because then you are using food we could be eating. Hydrogen, but the cars aren't avalible to the public yet.

  14. No fuel is environmentally wise. Everyone should join together and stop driving all at once. We should all start riding bikes to work or walking.

Just joking. That's never going to happen. People will drink up all of the gas they can until there's no environment left (Sad Truth); Why? Because their government tells them that freedom is the ability to consume gasoline 24 hours/day 365 days/year.

Oh. If you put your car in neutral and strap four horses to the front bumper you could run your car on HAY!!! That would be impressive.

  15. Ethanol is the most accessible, environmentally-friendly fuel for your car possible atm.

It will work well complementary to any car, not just newer models either -in fact older models apparently benefit from it more.

As some others have said, not naming any names such as *lover not a fighter*, any report trying to persuade it's reader by simply stating the opposition is full of "bullshit" must be perhaps full of it, itself.

The demand for ethanol for fuel consumption is, however, also levelled by raising its cost to achieve that of economic balance with that of ethanol for food consumption (e.g. corn produce). So if it were true we were going to create a higher demand than supply for 'corn', it is in fact not the end of the world and quite simple to accommodate for.

I think you can look anywhere in history to see we raise prices etc etc to fix these kinds of things.

AND YES ETHANOL WOULDNT BE CHEAP in this circumstance. But the point is that it WOULD STILL BE BETTER THAN -ALL- OTHER FUELS (or accessible fuels made available atm) for the environment. Period.

Despite this however, the cost of ethanol as a fuel does not exceed other fuel prices. In fact its been atleast AU$0.4 cheaper since they brought it in, where I am living atm.

Also, ethanol also does not just come from corn. *shakes head. Actually, for those who only think they know everything before passing judgement, ethanol has been produced from sugars since the early ages, and its process is indeed perhaps one of the oldest most recognisable processess known to mankind.

Somee people should check that there sources are not contradictory, such as this site:

(http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/sto... ..which claims that if we choose ethanol, we are choosing to eat all our corn that third world countries could have feasted on. It then goes on to claim that ethanol is in fact a very common and accessible process, also used to produce alcohol. Ahaha, and that they've only added additives (fatal) to ethanol so that we wouldn't have drunks sucking off our petrol pumps -because ofcourse its got nothing to do with making the fuel suitable to vehicles.

For bloody sake, if you intend to ignore using it to clean up our environment for the sake of saving a corn cob, perhaps we should stop producing and consuming alcohol which is produced by similar process. Far out, maybe we should even stop with the manufacture of some medicines??

No, i didnt think you would agree. We need medicine as much as we need our earth. Geez it sounds corny doesn't it? But even for those in denial, this is indeed what its coming down to.

Hope you choose the better option,

    Cheers xx
