  1. Try the following sites, they sell converters and adaptors by region. You can also pick ups kits with multiple adapters in them from places like CVS, Duane Reade and other pharmacies.

To know what voltage a country uses (110 or 220) check an online travel guide like Lonely Planet or Frommers.

  2. Vietnam public electrical supply is 220 volts/50 kHz, typically ungrounded. Many hotels have selectable 110/220-volt electrical supplies in the bathrooms, for electric shavers only.  If your electrical equipment is not automatic switchable (check any power supplies or adaptors for "INPUT:  AC 100-240 VOLTS") marked somewhere on the manufacturer's label.  If you do not have one of those, then you need a step-down transformer or voltage converter.  Many stores specializing in travel or electronics sell them.  You can also purchase online.  Other than that, you need to purchase a travel set that allows different kinds of plugs (or go to a local marker in Vietnam when you get there - they are really cheap) to mix and match round or flat blade plugs or grounded 3-blade to 2-blade plugs.
