  1. go with about a 6' 6" freshwater medium stiffness ugly stick, an ambassador CL600 real, and for lures i would look for a super pop-r, zara spook, mystic minnow, and a few propellor baits.  these are all top water so you might to want to ask someone how to properly work them.

  2. Here are my picks for a good inshore saltwater outfit:

                        Rods?

    1. Daiwa "Coastal" Series, 7' 6" Medium- ($69.95 at Bass Pro).

    2. Shimano "Teramar", 7' 6" Medium- ($109 at Bass Pro). (This is a great rod!)

    3. Falcon "Coastal" XG, 7' 6" Medium- ($119 at Bass Pro). (X-cellent rod!)

                  Reels?

    1. Daiwa "Black Gold", BG 15- ($69.99)

    2. Pflueger "Supreme" MG, 8035 MGX- ($99)

    3. Daiwa "SS" Tournament Series, SS 1300-($89)

    4. Shimano "Saros F" SAR 2500 F- ($129)

These are all good products. Try to stick with Daiwa, Shimano, Pflueger, for reels.

(It's a shame they don't make PENN reels like they once did! If they did, I would suggest you get one!)

Hope this helps ya? Good fishing!

  5. Like most endevors in life, there is no good all around fishing outfit.  The answer is going to vary from local to local, and species to species, where I fish, huge redfish and tarpon are common inshore targets, you wouldn't use the same tackle for them. Speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead and redfish are also sought after, and I have about three different outfits for them.  Cobia and King mackeral are also common inshore targets where I fish, and once again, totally different tackle.  See where I am heading?  First figure out what it is you want to fish for the most.  Then you decide what you want, you can get a decent outfit for all of the above named inshore fish (individually) each for under $200lb.  If there was one outfit for all, I would be an extremely wealthy person, because I would have saved probably tens of thousands of dollars over the year just on my inshore tackle.  The problem with all saltwater fishing is that it is addictive, and before you know it, you are shopping for more tackle because, on a windy day you cant cast that weightless live shrimp to the tailing reds (that is all they are hitting that day) with your favorite red outfit.  Good luck, I know I didn't help  you ....lol, but you will learn sooner or later what I am talking about.
