  1. It depends on what kind of show you want to do.

If you are streaming, you'll need a computer.

For a basic talk show studio, it would take an audio console (also called a "mixer"), a microphone, or maybe two mikes if the show is going to be hosted by two people. Then maybe a CD player for bumper music.

For a music-intensive show, you might add CD players or mp3 players, turntables and such.

For my music-intensive radio station, the list is:

    (1) 7-channel audio console

    (1) streaming computer

    (1) mp3 system on another computer

    (2) turntables

    (2) CD players - 1 single disc, 1 5-disc

    (2) cassette decks

    (2) microphones

    (1) Behringer audio processor

The low--power AM studio is similar and also has:

    (1) Reel-to-reel player

    (2) "cart" players  (rare in radio studios now)

    (1) CD burner

    (1) automation computer for non-simulcast programming

I'd guess you can get by with a mixer and a couple of mikes.

And, an ISDN line or some system to get your show to the station.
