  1. you really dont NEED anything if you dont like to dive, but if you do you just wear knee pads, shorts, and your jersey. some teams may make you wear the knee pads though, but our team didnt.

  2. You need knee-pads, court shoes (nike, or muzuno) and if you are on a volleyball team the coach should get the jerseys you just have to pay the cost for yours. Your knee pads have to be volleyball ones, you can't play if they are biking ones. and its always good to bring a tee shirt and water for volleyball. PS: Tip for when you are playing games, YELL LOTS it stunts the other teams concentration!!!Trust me!<3 Hope that helps

  4. For tops what you need is a jersey shirt. Its should be something hot so you will get active,so as the bottoms.

For knees You need Knee Pads so when you slide to catch the ball your knees wont get hurt.

If Your sensitive you need ankle support so you wont get sprains.

All of these are available at sports shop mostly in Mizuno shops because they offer best knee pads and shoes.

  5. Equipment required for volleyball is of course, a volleyball, some nee pads, (for sliding),I suggest high socks to go underneath your nee pads so you can slide easier on a gym floor. You need a net. And other than that just some gym clothes and tennishoes. You can get these items at sports stores or even a simple wal-mart.

  6. If you are talking about what you need to play you don't need anything really unless it is required or against the rules. I always wear spandex, knee pads, and long socks (for diving.)If you are talking about coaching then you can just go to your local sports store and ask them.

  7. well you need nee pads and you can get them around big 5 or Nike

  8. There are several different pieces of equipment that are useful for volleyball, but not necessarily required.

1-Get some comfy athletic clothing.  Comfy shorts and a comfy t-shirt are a must!  Also, get a good sports bra that you'll feel comfortable and confident in.  You'll want to get some good socks (long or short depending on personal preference and team preference).  Wigwam socks are great long socks that have a ton of padding.

2- Shoes!  If volleyball is something you want to do seriously, you need good shoes.  Mizuno's are the best ones available for volleyball because of how they are constructed.  They're flexible and lightweight which is good for both front row and back row players.  They will also feel like they've molded to your feet after a few days, which is good.  The downside is they cost $90+ a pair.  If money is an issue or if you're not sure how serious of a player you'll be, Asics is a good brand to look into.  They're inexpensive ($30) and work pretty well.

3-Knee Pads:  I usually don't recommend knee pads to younger kids because you don't want to get in the habit of diving on your knees (I've seen a girl knock her patella into her thigh).  However, they are useful in preventing bruises with rolls and defensive or from blocking and hitting knees with the player across the net.  The best ones I've found are Mizuno's.  Any flat ones will do, just make sure they have the padding on the sides of the knees as well.  A good pair will run you about $30.

4-Active Ankles.  Actives are a must if you plan on being a serious player.  These will prevent major ankle injuries, but be aware that they might weaken your ankles so you should do some stuff (weight lifting) without them on to keep your ankles strong.  These come in black or white and will run you about $30.

5-Spandex.  It's a comfort thing.  I've always been comfortable in spandex and prefer to wear them even under regular shorts.  Volleyball players wear spandex because they allow free movement and keep people from seeing up your shorts when you're going after a ball.  Nike or Mizuno make good spandex, I buy mine off www.eastbay.com.  You can also chose the inseam length (college teams wear 1-2 inch, high school girls prefer 3-5 inch) and can get them in all sorts of wacky colors.  These will run you $20-$30 a pair.

6: Lots and Lots of hair ties!!!   This is a must if you're a female athlete, especially if you break them all the time.  I also like to get headbands (the thin stretchy ones) or use pre-wrap.  You can get this stuff at walmart.

The rest of the equipment you can get at stores like www.volleyballone.com (my personal favorite)

  9. knee pads is the key thing you can get them at modells.Sports authority.and ***** sporting goods

  10. knee pads, and clothes you think are appropriet.  you can get the knee pads at your local sports shop

  11. at most, if you are in practice or tryouts, you could just wear a t-shirt and shorts. if you are in a game however, you must wear an official team uniform that is the same color (except for the libero, who has a different color shirt to get the referee's attention).

kneepads are not required, but are very helpful when it comes to diving. the kneepads protect your knees regardless if you know how to dive correctly or not. i would recommend the nike dri-fit ones, or mizuno VS-1. you can buy those in modells, d**k's sporting goods, or anywhere else that sells athletic equipment.

volleyball sneakers are also good to have, but again, not required. i think either a nike, addias or mizuno shoe should be fine. you can probably buy those online at zappos.com or on their official websites or in those stores i listed above.

you cant play volleyball without a volleyball! the only downside to this is, the cheaper price you pay, generally the cheaper ball you are going to get. i would go with a molten or wilson volleyball. i think you can buy those online too.

hope i helped! good luck :]
