What equipment must the horse rider wear when mounting a horse?

Rider : A helmet,riding pants,boots...thats abt it for a rider.

Horse : saddle,reins,over reach boots .

this is enough for basic riding.

unless you are competing... nothing is "required"... i ride my horses on the beach in my bathing suit and barefoot lol.... but a helmet is reccomended, especially for beginning riders... if you are going to show or compete, than research what is required for that particular event

all depends on what style your riding. These below are required fro competition as a must have.

English: helmet, boots, those riding pants that are tight ( ive worn them),  dress shirt and riding coat, gloves

western: blue jeans, dress shirt, cowboy hat, boots, Spurs ( if needed). Hope I helped.
