I'm only fourteen, but I have a talent for music. I want to record my music and make CDs for a possible career. My parents won't help me, and I only have 1,000 in my savings. What really cheap equipment could I get that still has good quality? I know NOTHING about this stuff.

  1. Do you already have a decent computer? If you don't I recommend that first of all!

    Then...

    Line 6 Toneport USB recording/modeling interface ($139.99)

It's not a bad piece of equipment for it's low price. Good quality recording and decent effects to play with.

    Musician's Friend DX4 Studio Bundle($299.99)

    http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/M...

It's a package that comes with headphones, speakers, cords, 3 studio quality microphones and microphone stands.

Those two links I sent you contain everything you would need to record vocals and add some effects.

I also recommend the programs "Fruity Loops Studio 6" (also known as FL Studio 6) and "Acid Pro 6.0" They are both very easy to use.

Acid Pro 6.0 isn't needed though, the Line 6 Toneport comes with software for recording.

(I'm not supposed to say this but you can find both of those programs online through sites such as http://isohunt.com/ but it's always a good idea to actually pay for things. Wink. )

Look for bargains, it's about what you're saying and playing, not how expensive the gear is! Keep that in mind and you'll do fine!

    :) Good luck!
