My friend's parents are both from Cuba, but her mother's grandfather is from France and her dad's grandfather is from Germany.

As she said, when she went for a visit to Cuba everyone stared at her because she "looked different" since everyone was a natural tan and she's one of the people with the lightest pale I've ever seen. She has light hazel eyes, brown hair and completely pale, if I were to see her in the street I would also say she's some kind of irish girl. If looks like she's not hispanic and both her grandfathers are white Europeans but her grandmothers are hispanic, does it make her hispanic or Caucasian?

Also important info: she told me in her school test they mark her as hispanic, but she says the school judges by the place she was born (Cuba) I know a lot of white hispanics, but she's practically milk color and can say english words some people that came to the US at her age can't.

  1. This is ugly to say such a thing. there are plenty pure hispanic with white skin and Blondie hair. I really don't like the kind of people hating where they are born!!!

just open your eyes and take a look at these pictures!! all are pure hispanic and look not much different than northern europe.

P.S I have seen a ton of arabs with blonde hair and blue eyes but in the cezus, they put themselves into Asian or Black either. because they are not european!!

  2. She a black woman.

  3. Technically, she is both German and French(maybe a little latino thrown in there), and her parents just happen to be born in Cuba, because they probably migrated to Cuba generations ago. She is Cuban by nationality, but she is white(German & French) by race. Its like saying a Italian-American is american by nationality, but white(Italian) by race.

  4. Yeah there are plenty of people from the Caribbean, Central America, and South America who look white but are born there.

They're usually of pure Spanish or (in the case of Brazil) Portuguese Decent that derived from the original wealthy landowners/govt officials that came there.

Then there are the mixed people the mestizos (correct?).

If anything you can blame it on peoples' reactions. the people in Cuba probably think she's of Spanish descent - they're the wealthy people. And in the case of Cuba...the folks that were kicked out when Castro came into power. So that's probably why all those folks gave her looks.

  5. Im guessing Caucasian...
