How?

Maneja is really quite strange as family name for a Spanish speaker,  but the etymology and sound of both are Spanish: so Philippines was almost the only possibility.

Then I checked white pages of Philippines and , having been there and knowing people I asked a confirmation

Try to google maneja and pPhilippines on Google and you will find a lot of results of Mr And Ms Maneja and Manalastas (The army commander of Davao area, a judge of the supreme court, many normal people)
