The name 'Moberg' is dervied from the name 'Yoberg' and I believe it is a cross between Eskimo and Afro-American.  African Americans began mingling with them and they adopted some of the language.  Originally all Eskimo were very generous and it was there culture to be very giving and whenever a dispute arose over ice-berg ownership it was customary to say 'that is Yo Berg' and allow the other party to gain ownership of the disputed berg.  Over time they became more greedy and during disputes it became commonplace to say 'Get yo filthy paws off that thing.  That is Mo Berg, not Yo berg.'  Hence the name Moberg became more popular.
