There's always the Duff blimp. It's Duff time!

  2. There are a few blimps around, but they are usually used as camera platfors at sporting events.

  3. There are still quite a few companies that have blimps out there. The most well known is the Goodyear Blimps, but Met Life has one, I saw a Direct TV one the the other day. They are used primarily for sporting events and promotional reasons.

I got to ride in one of the Goodyear Blimps awhile back.

  4. Yes they do and they are coming back. There is so much going on right now it's unbelievable. I don't know where you live but there is a huge Zeppelin Airship flying in the south of germany in Japan this summer in London and starting September over the US and mainly San Francisco. There are 2 Metlife Blimps Operating and 3 GoodYear Blimps and some other Blimps and Skyships one was getting some press as the Ron Paul Blimp early 2008. So yes they are alive if you contact me and tell me where you live I might even be able to tell you where you might be able to see one again.

Also check out my Blog http://airshipworld.blogspot.com it's full of airship, zeppelin and blimp news from all over the world.

    Regards

    Andreas

  5. Good Year still has several and they are used for promotional purposes.

There is a HUGE airship being built in Germany that is intended to be able to transport HUGE LOADS world wide... slowly, but much faster than by ship and cheaper than by airplane.
