Really where are the true Democrats at? The teddy Roosevelt democrats? not the socialist we see today.

Heres a little factiod for you

Regarding income inequality if Democratic presidents continously held office since 1945 inequality would be, ceteris paribus, roughly the same today as in 1945

  1. Whatever happened to "fiscal conservative" Republicans?  Here's a little factoid for you

Just going off the last 28 years now, but the only time we didn't go further in debt as a nation was under Bill Clinton.  Weird that Republicans would call Democrats tax and spend and really be the party tanking on the economy.

  2. They became Republicans.  The two parties have been gradually swapping ideology since FDR and the Democrats have been slowly infiltrated by communist influence.

Oh, Teddy Roosevelt was Republican, his cousin Franklin was Democrat.

  3. Didn't you see them?  They were the ones holding up all those "Democrats for McCain" signs at the RNC.  My sources tell me they were clapping the loudest!

  4. If you're talking about the Southern Dixiecrats, they all left the Democratic Party and joined the Republicans long ago.

    And good riddance.

PS:  Teddy Roosevelt was a liberal Republican.

And to the idiot that referred to San Nunn:  Sam Nunn endorsed Obama, fool.

  5. the trouble is that to fight your enemy, you have to steal his thunder. So, you take causes that seem like they will get you elected - meaning the parties gradually shift positions until they literally stand in the same shoes their opponents used to wear. However, Democrats are usually in the lead travelling around the circle, because they are more responsive to trends.

  6. They jumped ship when hollywood took over and the party got "californicated". The physical Conservatives also tend to be social Conservatives too. When the democrats went after the welfare and every other little group the socialist cater too, they lost the "old" party feel and appeal.

  7. they were pushed out of the way by the far left freaks. just as the moderate republicans were pushed out by the fundamentalist christian nut jobs.

  8. Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican, you k**b.

--Wow, dude, you are delusional.  First, FDR's programs were much closer to socialism than anything any mainstream politician is even floating now, and second, your intrepretation of the Clinton Era amounts to a paranoid rant that is not supported by fact.  You need to buy a radio with an FM band.

  9. They got scared s**+les at what was happening to their party and changed their party affiliation.

  10. simple, they've been frightened away by radical, far left, extremist liberals. if you're left-center, then you're a traitor.

  11. They are called Regan Democrats and are supporting McCain/Palin.

  12. I call BS.

  13. Their today's new Republicans in my opinion.

  14. We are here in Pennsylvania...clinging to our religion and guns...voting like the radicals we are...for McCain/Palin

  15. They are still there & voting for McCain.

Sarah just woke them all up!

We will see a landslide this time the likes of which has not been seen since Bush versus Dukakis.

  16. They have been drummed out - solid guys like Sam Nunn are long gone.

To the idiot below - I never said Nunn didn't endorse Obama.  I said he was gone.   He has not been in the Senate for almost 15 years.   His pro stance on school prayer, the death penalty, g**s in the military  and the balanced budget amendment to the constitution just don't mesh with the modern Democratic party.  So the real question to ask your silly self is not whether Nunn endorsed Obama but whether does Obama endorse Nunn's beliefs?   The obvious answer is that he does not as he picked that thug Biden over Nunn as the VP candidate.   If he picks Nunn perhaps he gets many of the Conservative Democrats back and seals the breech in the party.
