Question:

What ever happened to grudges?

I miss the Spencer/Busch days, I say put Spencer in the #33 next year. Seems like every argument is settled by Tuesday and they are best friends again. Grudges add a lot of drama that was a big part of the sport.

  1. Tom........where have you been all season?

Kyle vs. Jr. and his "Nation"

Okay, Jr. has nothing to do with the grudge, no offense intended.

  2. I agree, nothing like personality like the good ole days..Nascar just won't allow it any longer, dang it.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  3. well there really isnt going to be any till we get to bristol or martinsville then we might see some tempers flare up

  4. The closest think we have to a grudge is Stewart and Kurt Busch. or maybe kyle busch against dale jr. I wouldn't call it a rivalry but you can just tell that kyle really doesn't like jr. whether he spun him purposly or not, he really wants to be back at hendrick. Jr. took his spot at hendrick. Last year they were all over each other at kansas, homestead, and martinsville. This year, kyle has held a grudge ever since rick said

'I now announce the driver for the No. 88 car, DALE EARNHARDT, JR!'

  5. what's with all you guys trying to be all pretty and politically correct. How about Montoya taking out Busch and admitting to it. How about Montoya and Harvick grabbing each others helmets. And what's with Montoya anyway, is he just a trouble maker or what? I'm starting to like that guy.

  6. Sponsors don't want to be associated with any kind of controversy that might stop one person from buying their product. It sucks that money totally runs the show now.

Hasn't been a good on-track rivalry since Jimmy Spencer had to put a " Round of Wedge " into that Nut.

  7. I agree...I was at Bristol when #97 got the win and the #41 went home with hurt feelings....it was a great race from start to finish!!!!

I would to see a grudge on the track from week to week...this come to the trailer so we hit you upside the head stuff is getting to be boring...c'mon NASCAR let 'em race and let 'em be who they are.

  8. NASCAR happened to grudges. you get fined...docked points....suspended if you show any signs of personality at all. It is crazy. Can you guys imagine the 80s with all these rules ...there would be like 5 drivers on the track each week.

  9. Thank Helton, France family and NASCAR for giving us vanilla racing. Gotta be family entertainment (I agree), but guys, don't get aggressive.

  10. People who cry about other drivers showing personality and having feelings caused NASCAR to try and put the lid on behavior like that. I agree with you, it's dumb. Let em be, it makes it more exciting. "Back then" that's one of the main reasons why people watched the races, now if you have a personality you better get rid of it!

  11. Brian France did away with hot head drivers, strokers, fights, grudges, rubbin's racin', and everything else that made Cup racing what it used to be. That includes drivers' personalities too.

  12. Drivers can't have grudges on the track because they'll be fined for it. What a load of bull. A fight, the one between Yarborough and the Allisons, in a way helped NASCAR gain popularity.
