  1. well, there are the charts of global temperatures which don't match up at all with the global warming caused by CO2 release, but do match up year by year with the rises and falls in solar activity.  We don't have any solid proof on the cause of global warming, which makes claiming that it is 100% absolutely X or Y nonsense.  As for the people whining about this consensus among scientists, they need to realize that 3 or 4 people don't count as a consensus.....there are millions of scientists of many different sciences.  There are a variety of theories about global warming.  Claiming that they are all agreeing to one of them is an obvious lie.

  2. Avoid listening to yahoo answerers personal opinions.  Most have very little understanding of science.  I recommend reading web-sites of major scientific research organizations that are involved in climate study.  Here's a few good ones that provide the answer to your questions:

  3. This is science and what counts is the data, not people's intuition.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.
