  1. due?  how 'bout "do".  The "pre-school" that my neice attended spelled treasure with a "z" instead of an "s".  The signs on the door were written in ebonics...it was pathetic for a teaching establishment!

  2. Yes.  Here are a couple of articles:

    http://aer.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstr...

    http://www.4children.org/news/900prek.ht...

P.S.- There is a difference between a preschool and a daycare, but daycares have their benefits in school readiness as well.

  3. It is really just glorified Day Care.

So do not worry they are not trying to push calculus on your kid.

This is of course when I went, I do not know how things have changed.

I just remember coloring and learning basic shapes and stuff.

Of course if this is an Asian country you are talking about they may take this more seriously.

I recently learned that in Asian countries they have to compete just to get into the best High schools!

  4. The very best evidence, with sources for further reading, is chapter five of Freakonomics.

  5. assuming that you didn't attend..... plenty of evidence, most people who have attended preschool can spell the word " do"
