What exactly are gel nails?

Question

I've heard about them in nail salons, but I don't know exactly what they are or what they look like.

A picture would be helpful as well

They are just like Acrylic but they are shinier and clearer when the dry without polish on them!

gel nails look and are basically acrylic with gel in them. the reason why they cost more when getting a full set is because they are said to last longer and grow with the nail so you could wait longer to pay for a fill in

Just like what has already been said, gel nails are just like acrylic nails. They put them on you basically the same way as they do with acrylics. But, they come out looking shinier and last longer. And the shine lasts for a week or two. They are better in my opinion. You don't need to polish them. Actually, polish doesn't stay long on gel nails, at least not for me.
