I know there is the basic SAT, but I've also heard of SAT subject Tests. I have a list of the subjects and when they are offered, but do I need to take them or should I take them?

  1. Tests that assess your knowledge of a particular subject. You would need to take them if you want to go to a top school, which usually require three. They are based out of 800, just like the SAT.

  2. well, first of all SAT subject tests are tests that measure your ability in specific subject areas ..such as chemistry, literature, history etc

and to apply to universities in america, although not all the schools require SAT II, most (i'd say) require them.

most require at least 2 SAT IIs and some require 3 SAT IIs

SAT IIs is just another formal test and whatver score you get will be on the transcript so make sure you know what you are doing or else...don't take it

so if you want to knwo if you need to take it, then go look at the website of the universities you want to attend, otherwise, take three SAT IIs just in case!

  3. Well, they're tests which are focused on a specific subject. There's chemistry, biology, language, english, history, and more. Each is one hour long, I think, and they're all out of 800. Some colleges don't require them, but you may need to take them depending on the college you're applying to. If you decide to take them, note that you have to take 3 of them, but some colleges are okay with two. So, you should look up some research on the college you want to attend, and see if they're required. They also look good on a resume, if you do well on them. Well, hope this helps. Good luck.
