What exactly are wet dreams?

I am a girl and I have absolutly no idea about this stuff. So I think that it would be kinda good if I knew just a little bit about them. Because right now I am CLUELESS!

A wet dream is merely the emission of s***n during the sleep. When a male emits s***n in his sleep, they don't have to necessarily be dreaming about something sexual. If they do have sexual dreams, it helps the s***n come out because of the o****m, but it'll be emitted regardless of what they're dreaming. Hope this helps.

When a guy's sperm reaches it's expiration date (much like a girl's egg before her period), his body will release the sperm filled s***n so that there is room to store the newer, fresher, healthier sperm.  It happens during sleep because we are more relaxed and can't consciously prevent it from happening.  A guy can avoid this by masturbating or having s*x, which physiologically serves the same purpose and is more enjoyable to the guy.
