  1. My Lori loves grevillia flowers and fruit, But they must also have Lorikeet wet and a dry mix which can be purchased from the pet shop, Wet mix needs to be given atleast twice a day but must be thrown out after 2-3 hour in their food bowl.

Fruit can be diced up or mashed depending on how your Loris likes it, they can be very fussy.

ALSO IMPORTANT...Dont feed them chocolate, avocado or onions.

Crash(my lori) hates banana, which is a pain because alot of Wet and dry mixes are banana flavoured lol.

They are very messy eaters and their p**p is mostly liquid and they squirt lots, so you will be required to do constant cleaning, they will die if you dont because they are prone to viral and bacterial infection

They have very strong personalities and make great pets but make sure you buy a very young bird because as they get older without proper training and handling they will become very aggressive towards their owners.

Lori's are by nature a very rough bird anyway!

Lori's need alot of stimulation so you will need different toy's to keep them amused.

After saying all that, if you are willing to go through all the hassle....They are the most loving, loyal and funny bird you can get IMHO.

Also if you want the bird to bond, buy one of the opposite s*x to you.

  2. You don't need to mash the fruit. They love fruit. I had friends who owned three of these birds.  They used to give them some sort of a powdery substance too.  They are noisy.

  3. They will eat fruit but they need the powder mix that you will need to buy. They are actually quite expensive to feed. We used to have one, and we fed it a powder that we had to mix with water and also a dry mix. That was as well as fruit etc. I did not have any grevilleas but the wild ones around here love bottle brush flowers and the little nuts in pine trees.
