  1. If you're already in the process then just wait.  Eventually, it will begin - including back support (from the day the parent left).

You really need to ask your lawyer.

  2. go down to the courts and bring the child's birth certificate, proof paternity for the father if he did not sign the birth certificate, your id, and that's really it i think o and your income such as check stubs but that will really be needed the day of your court date

  3. You should ask this question of people from your state as other states have their own rules and regulations..

  4. The state of Wisconsin started taking support out of my check and all my ex had to do was make one phone call to the county. My name was on the birth certificate and that was all they needed here. If the Dad isn't on the certificate you may need to file a paternity suit. You will have to get a case worker with the county if you haven't already. Good luck.

  5. I live in Oregon, child support here is a night mare!!! I was on state assistance (my son's health care) so they filed automatically. it took 9 months for the dad to be served. He told them he lived with me and supported me and baby, so they dropped it with out even asking me. I re-filed 2 months ago and have not hear anything since. You have to call all the time and push them to pay attention to you, otherwise they forget about you. Also, if the balance of arears is $5,000 or greater you can go to www.supportkids.com and they get things done much faster!

  6. Im in pa, I just called domestic relations, made an appointment, i believe i had to take income information birth records, any info address and such for the father. I did not have a lawyer, they give you a case worker, They get intouch, he may request blood test, then he had to bring proof of income and such and we had a hearing case worker decided based on my bills, and both our income, how much he would pay, which he screwed himself, see he was cheating with someone at work and was working mega overtime to be with her, well my child support was based of that, even though he recently got fired cause he knocked that girl up and she was under age, and you  better believe I was all up in his work letting them know what was going on. He soon then couldnt get another job, so his licscence was suspended, my kids are 8 and 10, they attatch his wages, and i get his income tax since he is in arrearageo $25000.00 which mean even after they are 18 he will still be pay me the arrears.

  7. nothing

  8. Your lawyer must do it for you...you must have serious grounds to just take a part of someone's pay check. Yoiu really can't do it on your own...you must get a lawyer in most states

  9. I went to my local child support enforcement agency which was located in the social services building. It took approx 6 months to get everything finalized. First, you and the father come to an agreement, if you cannot agree on an amount and frequency of payments, it will go before a judge. You do not have to hire a lawyer...child support enforcement will do it for you. But DO NOT be in a hurry, because they tend to take forever. And you have to stay on top of them or they let things slide. Anywho, call child support enforcement in your area, and good luck!! (I live in NC)
