Does it necessarily apply to what they learned at technical school or does it involve more of what they did at BMT?

  1. I went to more classes = codes, skill re-evaluate course, Rifle, Pistol, Shot-gun qualification.

Did house duty = Cleaned commons areas once every 6 weeks in rotation with everyone else.

Squadron meetings, ran once a year for PT qualify.

Vet-USAF / Been out for a long time things may have changed

  2. What you learn in tech school is what you do for the most part. As a new Airman you will also do a lot of grunt work such as cleaning and various details. As you progress into the NCO ranks you can be chosen for jobs within the squadron or flight that are geared toward administrative duties even  if you enlist as a mechanic, cop, ect.

  3. In bmt you learn the basic entry level stuff for the Air Force. At tech school you learn your everyday job.

  4. circle jerk...

  5. In Basic you learn how to march and fold clothes and make beds.

During Tech School you learn the fundamentals of your field and the airforce policies

When you are permanent party you learn that you will probably divorce your first spouse, all the people above you are dumber than you, and that your recruiter is a liar.
