  1. I dont know what you mean by "doofier." Subwoofers give you real low beats. These are kind that make everything around you rattle. A lot of times when you hear a vehicles stereo system, its the subwoofers that you hear. Most newer vehicles these days have some sort of built in subwoofer. The amplifier is required for the subwoofer to operate. The amplifier does exactly what its named. It amplifies the amount of power sent to it and sends that power to the sub. This is required as I have yet to see a stereo system that will produce enough power to make a subwoofer sound respectable. Most subwoofers come in 10" or 12" sizes. But other sizes are available.

  2. if you have subs make sure there enclosed in a box not cardboardbox j/k anyway the amps powers the subs to hit the bass notes subs are not for vocals going threw them and yes it does make them louder if you have a decent setup

  3. Subwoofers are speakers geared towards bass.

An amplifier does what it name states amplifies the sound.

    Thats the basics of it.

    anymore just ask.

  4. subwoofers pump out the bass and the amp gives power to the subwoofers.
