  1. u will be tearing families apart...

  2. there are different types of social workers. as far as money, they only make about 35,000-40,000 a year depending on where you live/what you do.. NOT a lot of money. You can get a degree in SW or psychology or sociology but SW is better (and easier).. As a bachelors level social worker you can work for dept of human services as a child services worker (who takes kids out of the home).. They have a VERY bad rep right now so that might not be a good thing... YOu can work in some psych hospitals as a therapist, in some places like shelters, dv shelters, residential homes, nursing homes, etc.  If you get a master's degree, you have more options open for you. You can then work as caseworkers in hospitals, you can open your own practice and do therapy, you get more money...etc. then if you go on for PHD.. endless possibilities.

KInd of work: again will depend on where you work.. If you work with juveniles it will be completely different than if you work with adults.. If you work with chemical dependency it will be much different than if you work with delevopmental disabilities.. If you reach masters level, you can pretty much accept any job in any field that you want.. There are a LOT of social workers out there and you may have to get a masters to get a job..at least a good one.. My degree was in social work.. If you want to ask me any personal sw ?s please feel free to write and I will be glad to help.
