I know it means something like ´And that´s it!´... But what does BASTA mean when it´s on its own ?? And yeah... what DAMIT meant again... ?? And why was it decided to use these two words to express the feeling of sort of ´fed upness´ if that is known to you ??

  1. Damit ist Basta means finished/case closed/end of discussion/it's over with - you might say it when your child pesters all day to go to McDonald's and you've reached your limit.  I must admit I heard it often enough as a child.

  2. it means that`s it or it`s like that

  3. Damit Basta means "That is that."

  4. "Damit" means: with this/that. "Basta" means "final". we can say it this way......" With this it's final"

The use of these words together is emphasis without any chance of change of opinion. In a way these words in conjunction denote the end of any arguing.... the arguing itself having been the cause.

  5. basta is an italian word, it means enough!!!
