I now have spybot that I want to get rid of because it's not working so well. Could I replace that with Firefox, or is that not spyware?

  1. Firefox isn't a spyware suite, it's just a web browser. It's like Internet Explorer in that it's just what you use to surf the web.

If you're using a computer running a Windows operating system (Windows XP, Vista), you can download Windows Defender from Microsoft free of charge.

  2. Firefox is a popular world-wide browser with in August 2008 being the 2nd best web browser. It's good because you can open  new tab instead of lots of windows and taking ages to open and close. Also i's better looking and fast. It is connected with Google and it's free to download.

  3. Firefox is just s browser just like Internet Explorer. Spybot Seach and Destroy is the best anti spyware program you can get for free. Vista comes with a anti spyware program called bit defender.

  4. firefox is a web browser

  5. Firefox is an internet browser. It has nothing to do with your spyware protection.

If you are not happy with Spybot, I'd suggest checking out Ad-aware. It's a great program...you can get it for free at www.lavasoft.com

  6. Sorry, but Firefox is a browser.  Its main job is to help you use the Web.  It blocks some pop-ups and it's not as big a target for hackers as is Internet Explorer, but it certainly isn't a replacement for Spybot S&D.

If you're disappointed with it, perhaps you should know that it's often mentioned as half of a team, the other half being another program named Ad-Aware 2008.  Neither one is a complete replacement for the other, but together they do a good job.

    Hope that helps.
